Bali Volcano, Whitewater Rafting & Village Mountain Biking Adventure

Duration: 4 Days / 3 Nights

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick-up from Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, Ubud at 8.30 am. Transfer (1hr30) to the starting point of the ride in Kintamani. Full day ride from Kintamani to Ubud, an adventurous down-hill trip suitable for beginners. This trip takes you through a mixture of villages and countryside on jeep tracks and broken tarmac roads, ending in classic rice paddy country. Lunch along the trail. Finish in Ubud. Transfer to your hotel.

Meals: Lunch

Transportation: Back up truck, extra private car if more than 3 people join.

Accommodation: Ubud Hotel

Day 2: Pick up from the hotel at 8.30 am. Transfer to the starting point of the Batur Crater ride in Kintamani (1hr). Full day ride – Batur Crater. Lunch along the trail. Finish in Kintamani. Transfer back to your hotel in Ubud. Overnight in Ubud.

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Transportation: Back up truck, extra private car if more than 3 people join.

Accommodation: Ubud Hotel

Day 3: Pick up from the hotel at 8.30 am. Transfer (30mins) to the starting point for the rafting. Start of the rafting after a safety briefing. Raft the Ayung river for about 2 hrs. Have lunch after the rafting. Transfer back to your hotel and have the afternoon off or go out and discover Ubud.

Transportation: Back up truck, extra private car if more than 3 people join.

Accommodation: Ubud Hotel

Day 4: Today your driver will be at your service all day long. You can use him for a long transfer or for driving you around in the Ubud area. Here are some examples of what to do / what to see in and around Ubud (not included):

Meals: Breakfast

Join a Balinese cooking class.

Hike amongst the rice fields.

See some traditional dance performances.

Shop until you drop in Ubud’s fine boutiques.

Bargain yourself silly on Ubud’s traditional market.

Visit art galleries with traditional or modern art.

Have a full body treatment in one of Ubud’s many spas

  • All vehicular transport in private car with driver or in back-up truck with driver (when only 2 people join, the back up truck will suffice to transport people and bikes)

  • Drop off to the hotel of our choice on day 4
  • Lunches on riding days and on rafting day
  • Trail snacks, water and rehydration drinks on riding days

Meeting Place/ Pick up:
  • Airport
  • Any hotel in Kuta, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Sanur or Ubud.
What to Bring:

1. A copy of your insurance policy.

2. Your passport – with at least one completely empty page in it and more than 6 months to run before the expiry date.

3. A valid tourist visa or 25USD to pay for a visa on arrival (Indonesian Rupiahs are also acceptable, but credit cards are not accepted).

4. Money or some means of getting it out of the bank.

5. Sun-cream – SPV 15 or above.

6. Mosquito repellent.

7. Two pairs of comfortable cycling shorts.

8. A fleece or jumper for cooler evenings if you are staying in the mountains

9. Cycling shoes

Non-essential but ‘nice to haves’

1. Hydration pack – CamelBak or similar. If you haven’t already got one I would seriously consider buying one as it is one of the easiest ways to combat de-hydration.

2. A supply of your favourite energy bar.

3. Light pair of trousers and long sleeved shirt for the evenings – the best way to ensure not being bitten by mosquitoes – if you are particularly prone.

4. If you are staying on the coast and want to snorkel (or dive), bringing your own face-mask is a good idea.

Practical Info:

Total Distance: Approx 70 kms

Number of Days: 4 days /3 nights

Number of cycling days: 2 full days

Road Surface: This tour is a mixture of broken tarmac roads and off-road on a mix of singletrack

and vehicle-width dirt trails, which may be smooth, gritty, stony, rocky, rutted, loose or hard-

packed.

Support: A Ford Ranger pick-up truck adapted to take a max. no. of 11 bikes and 4 people.

Additional vehicles with bike racks for remaining passengers and bikes. 50% back-up cover.

Staff: local mtb guides, driver with back up truck, extra drivers with cars when needed.

Evening meals are not included.
