This 8 Day/ 7 Night short break takes travellers into the heart of Bali for some exciting water sports and activities. Includes 6 nights accommodation in standard hotels and all vehicular transport in private car with driver.
With the surrounding ocean, abundance of hot and cold water springs, and tumbling rivers that draw dramatic lines into the landscape, in Bali you are never far from water. This is a land that flourishes on the water that flows through it.
Discover terraced rice fields that are filled with water, thanks to an ingenious irrigation system that has turned the environment into geometrical mosaics that are reminiscent of the Spanish artist Gaudi.
According to the local Balinese Hindu belief, water is holy or full of demons, so you will find many temples that are often set within or close to water.
This experience will take you rafting on Bali’s most scenic river, snorkelling through colourful coral gardens, walking through soggy rice fields and within a water palace that was built to control the ocean’s demons.
We do expect you can swim, but you don’t have to be Aquarius or Pisces. A good health condition and a curiosity to discover something new is all you need for this trip. (Prone to seasickness is definitely a minus!)
The experience is set in and around the southern and eastern part of the island. Your route will start in Ubud, the cultural capital of Bali, where you will raft down the Ayung River. You will travel towards the east, by car and cycling, visiting water palaces along the way, before finding yourself on a beautiful white sand beach.
Bali’s most eastern point, Amed, is a tiny fishing village. It will be your home base for snorkelling and diving, but also for discovering ‘the morning of the world’ on board a fisherman’s jukung.
When coming back south, you will be hiking in Tirtagangga’s beautiful rice paddies and experience a ‘mandi lulur’ (traditional spa treatment) to reward you for the day’s exertions. Once in the south, the dramatic cliff of the Temple of Uluwatu awaits and a last supper on Jimbaran beach is your final evening’s feast.
This trip is suitable for people with children.
